A New book on Holocaust

A book «Executioners Witness. Jewish Massacre on the Territory of Occupied Belarus in 1941 — 1944. Documents and Materials» has been recently published. Authors: Adamushko, V.I.; Gerasimova I.P.; Selemenev V.D.; editor Novikov, S.E. — Minsk: NARB; 2009 — 216 p.

The book consists of two sections:

1. Documents and materials of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus on Nazi occupants' crimes against Jewish people perpetrated on the territory of Belarus in 1941 — 1944.

2. Appendix.

Places of massacre and deportation of Jews on the territory of Belarus in 1941 — 1944.

List of documents.

In the first part of the first section there are documents of all German organizations and military units that took part in massacre of Jews on the territory of Belarus during the war. They are Security Police and SD (Intelligent's Service of SS), Special–operation units, SS units and Wehrmacht, police formations, occupied civil administration and gendarmery. Documents are translated from German.

In the second part of the first section there are evidence of German captives have been obtained during interrogations from April 1945 till November 1949. All the materials and documents of the first section are provided by the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus.

In the second section, i.e. in the appendix, there is the list of places of massacre and deportation of Jews on the territory of Belarus in 1941 — 1944. The list is compiled by the Museum of Jewish History and Culture and contains all the Holocaust and deportation places across Belarus, as well as the number of Jews killed, the time of massacre and the information sources (archives, museums, regional administrations, local councils, eyewitnesses, reference literature, etc.).

There presented some peculiarities and structure of the list, bibliography and information sources in the foreword of the second section.
